Formed in 2012, Vertec has built a solid reputation within the refurbishment sector of the roofing and cladding industry and have grown rapidly in recent years. We aim to continue improving our service in this area and with our recent recruitment growth, expand to offer more “New Build” solutions to both new and existing clients. We utilise the most up to date products from the industry’s leading suppliers and manufacturers which ensures our clients benefit from a wide range of options offering the most robust and cost effective solutions possible.
Our design team focus on producing working drawings, always ensuring that industry best practice is carried out in the installation of our work and that quality objectives are achieved. Operations are carried out diligently by trained operatives who are all CSCS accredited. Further training includes, First Aid, IPAF, Manual Handling, Fire Safety and Asbestos Awareness. Our aim is to ensure that client’s health, safety and environmental requirements are consistently met. We received full CHAS accreditation in 2016 and are fully committed to delivering the objectives laid down by the organisation whilst working towards achieving IS0 9001 and ISO 18001 accreditation.
Based in Central Southern England we are ideally located to service a wide geographical area from Birmingham to Southampton, Avon to Kent although we can undertake projects nationwide

Meet the Team
Directors

Aaron Bloxham
Managing Director
Aaron started in the construction industry after leaving school. After many years of onsite experience, his ambitions grew, and together with former Director Mick Williamson, founded Vertec in 2012. Throughout the years, Aaron has strengthened his leadership skills and brought the company to where it is today. Surrounded by people with the same vision and goal, he ensures a healthy environment for everyone within Vertec.
He used to play rugby in his younger days but has now hung up his boots to focus solely on the business.

Alex Robinson
Director
(Refurbishment Projects)
With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, Alex has become a strong operational leader for Vertec, where he joined as a Director in 2015. He has developed a dynamic team on the refurb side of Vertec and has watched the company grow as a result.
Alex has a love for horses which occupies most of his free time. On the odd occasion, he enjoys watching his favourite football team, Fulham.

Mick Hooper
Director
(New Build Projects)
Delivering many prestigious projects across a variety of sectors, Mick started in the construction industry in 1988 and joined Vertec as Construction Director in 2016.
With overall responsibility for the successful completion of projects, he delivers on customer satisfaction and business relationships to a high standard, whilst remaining focused on health, safety, and quality.
When he is not working, Mick’s pastimes include football, cricket, and golf.

Dan Seymour
Technical
Director
With a double qualification in construction management (Bsc Hons) and façade engineering (PgD) and over 20 years’ experience within the industry, Dan has worked with inspiring architects and engineers, gaining tremendous technical and design knowledge. He further advanced his career and joined Vertec as a Director in 2018.
He is passionate about the environment, loves hiking, playing tennis and learning new things every day.

Ray Bunn
Business Development
Director
Ray has been working for prestigious clients within a variety of industries for over 35 years. His extensive experience has led to the successful completion of significant projects within the UK. Ray Joined the company in 2020, he continues to capitalise on Vertec’s growth and build upon a wealth of knowledge. Ray focuses on business development and forging relationships together with cascading his wealth of experience to all departments with the Vertec organisation.
When not working, he enjoys time spent with his family and is a keen golfer.

Sara Goddard
Finance Manager
Qualified Bookkeeper with a completed AAT Level 3 and AAT Level 4 on the way, Sara strives to challenge herself in her professional and personal life. Confident, reliable, and always accurate, she joined Vertec in December 2018 and has since used all her knowledge to help the company grow.
She loves being a mum, enjoys having a laugh with colleagues and friends and is always up for a run when time allows!

Adina Fawdon
Commercial Manager
A born nature and animal lover, Adina enjoys spending her free time with her family.

Amelia Hooper
Accreditation Manager/HR Coordinator
A few months after graduating from the University of East Anglia, Amelia decided to follow her father’s footsteps in the construction industry and joined Vertec in 2019 as a full-time project planner.
Passionate for helping her colleagues and clients, Amelia later pursued a career in office administration and management. Optimistic, charismatic, and very well organised, she strives in for excellence in her new position.
She loves to socialise and has a keen interest in learning and education.

Richard Boulton
Buyer
With an extensive knowledge of the current market, Richard has a good understanding of construction materials and plant. He is always focusing on building the best relationships with his merchants, suppliers, and builders. Selecting and buying at the best market value, he takes pride for keeping projects running within the budget.
In his free time, he runs the local youth football team where he is recognised more like Mike Bassett than Pep Guardiola.

Abigail McDermott
Quantity Surveyor
Starting her career in the construction industry after leaving school, Abi has over 10 years’ experience in this field. Through this she has developed strong negotiation and cost management skills across a variety of projects always ensuring they are delivered with great satisfaction for both client and contractor.
Abi is currently in her final year of studies at Oxford Brookes University, where she is studying Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. Abi is always striving for her next achievement, where no challenge is too big or small.
In her spare time, Abi enjoys spending time with her friends and family, but most importantly her dog.

Zoe Young
Construction Planner
With a multi ranged skillset and breadth of previous experience, Zoe joined Vertec in July 2020. She successfully facilitates the weekly labour planning within the company and oversees a variety of different project programs, ensuring that the overall process runs smoothly.
Zoe has a passion for exotic animals which extends to her home living!

Bethan Stalder
Accounts Assistant
Bethan completed her studies with a distinction and joined Vertec to build and develop her skills and qualifications with the company that offers lots of new and exciting opportunities to grow.
She is hard working and highly motivated and aims to always work to the best of her ability. She likes to bring a sociable, fun bubbly and friendly energy to her role within the team.
On the weekends she enjoys spending time with her family, walking the dog and going out to the pub in the evenings with friends.

Rebecca McGraw
Buyer
After graduating from Bournemouth University in 2019 with a degree in Business Project and Operation Management, Rebecca went on to gain two years’ experience working in Operations and Sales in the property industry. During her third year at university Rebecca completed a placement in procurement at a well-known automotive company. Here is where she found a love for purchasing, building relationships with suppliers and cost saving!
Outside of work, Rebecca loves to spend her weekends with her friends and family socialising – especially down the pub!

Finley Ludlow
Trainee Quantity Surveyor
I am a young, sociable, and highly motivated individual. My hobbies include, playing football at the weekends for Oxford City U18’s, long-distance running trying to beat my best 5km time of under 20 minutes, trying to stay fit whilst also enjoying my desserts and finally, running my own Company, (Oxfordcollectioncompany) buying and designing bespoke trainers. I am eager to learn more about the job role and I am continuing to set new goals frequently to progress as far as possible.
Design

Adrian Parsons
Design Manager
Adrian has an extensive and varied construction experience continuing over 30 years. His journey has taken him all over the world from building demountable portal frame buildings at a gold mine in Senegal to designing, manufacturing and installing the system that converted a national football stadium into a Commonwealth Games athletics stadium where the entire running track and field of play floated two metres above the existing football field. Within mainstream construction he has developed a skilled understanding for the many trades and disciplines involved in constructing large buildings, both from hands-on experience and in their project and design management. He has a passion for learning how things work and trying to do them better.
Away from work that passion extends to rugby, where Adrian is an enthusiastic player for the Brighton and Hove Sea Serpents.

Jamie Bell
Designer
Working in several different sectors before joining Vertec in 2017, Jamie prides himself with a diverse experience in explosion protection, combined heat and power, drylining & ceilings, and now roofing & cladding design.
With an earned degree in Mechanical Engineering (BTEC HNC), he is very meticulous by nature with an emphasis on quality and waste minimisation. Keen to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients, in his spare time, he shares his passion for music with friends.

Ida Kwapinska
Graduate Designer
Recently graduated with a degree in construction project management, Ida took the opportunity to start her career as a trainee designer in August 2020 when she joined Vertec.
Keen to learn and develop new skills in AutoCAD and BIM technology, she is very excited to grow within the company, whilst applying her skills already developed during her university studies.
With a constant change in her hobbies and interests, she continues to discover new and fun things to do in her free time, such as gaming and knitting.
Estimations

Richard Clews
Estimating Manager
(New Build Projects)
With over 20 years’ experience within the building envelope sector, Richard has worked for a number of successful façade & roofing contractors both here in the UK and also Australia.
He has had extensive involvement with the pre-construction activities on many high-profile, prestigious projects and has successfully worked alongside some of the UK’s leading main contractors, architects and design consultants.
Progressing through the Estimating/Sales ranks to a managerial level, he puts his success down to not just his own efforts but also being fortunate enough to have been surrounded by some great colleagues whom he learnt a great deal from. His positive, can-do attitude and willingness to always deliver on his promises allows him to forge, develop & maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues alike.
Richard is keen on most sports and enjoys regularly playing football and attending his early morning boot camps. He loves helping out with coaching his son’s football team and trying to re-live his youth!
He has a passion for travel & architecture and devotes much of his spare time to making memories with his family and friends.

Ashwin Bhoobun
Senior Estimator

With strong roofing and cladding experience, Ashwin joined Vertec in March 2017.
Focused on always building and maintaining new and existing relationships with clients, he always strives for efficiency and punctuality. A strong negotiator, he enjoys looking after the refurbishment sector of the business.
In his free time, Ashwin indulges himself with different cooking experiences and cuisines.

Andrew Hurstfield
Senior Estimator
(New Build Projects)
Andrew has over 30 years of experience in estimation and project management and has extensive knowledge of the industry, having worked both in the UK and the USA. Andrew has worked on prestigious and challenging projects in roofing, cladding, and glazing. Andrew returned to the UK in 2019 and joined the wonderful family of Vertec at the beginning of April 2021.
When he is not working, Andrew enjoys spending time with is wife; sailing, golfing, gardening, walking, and exploring new places.

Bryn Whicker
Estimator

Three years after gaining his onsite experience within the Roofing & Cladding Industry, Bryn began working for Vertec as an estimator in 2018. Making use of his onsite experience and knowledge, he is diligent, analytical, and accurate in his estimates.
He loves spending time with his family, playing & watching rugby and is looking forward to the day he can coach his son.

Steve Shurrock
Contracts Manager

Steve has amassed over 35 years’ experience within the building industry, spending the last 20 years specialising solely on roofing and cladding. With a wide range of technical skills, his exceptional standards always provide a realistic scenario on what the project can deliver. His industry expertise is supporting and improving the business overall.
Steve always has a DIY project on the go and has a lifetime passion for running.

Simon Plummer
Contracts Manager
(Refurbishment Projects)
Simon joined Vertec in September 2020 as a Senior Contracts Manager, tasked with overseeing many valuable refurb projects. Since 1985, he built his knowledge and experience in a variety of roles within the construction industry. With strong communication skills, Simon is keen to negotiate and always conclude with a good deal for everyone.
On weekends, he enjoys fishing or likes to take walks with his dogs and grandchildren.

James Crysell
Contracts Manager
(New Build Projects)
James joined Vertec in April 2021 as a Senior Project Manager with nearly 20 years construction experience from installation to project managing full envelope. James loves to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients, as well as maintaining a well organised safe environment for the workforce.
In his spare time James is a keen cyclist and football fan, along with enjoying lots of family time and walking his two Schnauzer’s.

With over 14 years of experience within the construction industry, Leonard is a reliable, hard-working project manager who thrives on challenging projects with extensive materials and equipment. He is working to a high ethical standard, ensuring that every project is delivered in line with his client expectations.
Outside of work, he is a very active father and looks forward to his next adventure abroad.

Gordon Wright
Construction Manager
Experienced in Roofing & Cladding dating back as far as 1992, Gordon has effectively managed complex projects, building commitment within the team and good relationships with clients.
He thrives on meeting project requirements and inspires a shared vision with the Vertec team.

Bradley Plummer
Construction Manager
With 14 years’ experience in the roofing & cladding industry, Brad thrives in achieving the upmost delivery in every project. Starting in the construction industry from school, he has amassed great knowledge and experience in all aspects of external envelope packages. Brad uses all his professional knowhow to complete the challenging tasks at hand and finish projects on schedule.
In his spare time, he likes to be at home with his wife to be and children, taking the family dog for long walks and planning the next family holiday.

Ian French
Construction Manager
Ian started in the construction industry as a teenager on the tools, throughout this time he worked on many roofing and cladding projects. Ian progressed in this role and began working in management in his thirties. Ian is particularly proud of a lot of projects including: the Millennium Stadium Cardiff, St Mary’s Stadium Southampton, the Aero Space Building, and various hospitals up and down the country. In 2021, Ian joined Vertec as a Construction Manager and is particularly looking forward to applying his skills and knowledge in his role.
In his spare time, Ian enjoys touring Europe on his motorcycle with his friends. Ian has a real interest in cars and rally sport. Ian is a very keen Koi keeper; he enjoys spending time tending to his Koi pond.

Ali Sylejmani
Construction Manager
Ali is a Project Leader with over 15 years’ experience managing large to small-scale commercial projects. He joined Vertec in Summer 2017 and has since excelled in building positive relationships with clients, as well as his Vertec team to ensure great work is delivered.
In his downtime, he enjoys running, cycling, and spending time with his family.

Jimmy Wright
Site Manager
Before starting roofing and cladding ‘on the tools’, Jimmy studied a Level Three Diploma in Motorsport Engineering and then went on to study a Level Two Diploma in Engineering whilst simultaneously completing an apprenticeship as an Access Control Engineer. Jimmy has always been driven and had a goal to move into management and therefore took the opportunity to start as a Trainee Site Supervisor at Vertec. He has made fantastic progression in his role and is an asset to our team. In his spare time after work he participates in MMA, he spends weekends at the pub watching Man United or playing football.

Joe East
Trainee Site Manager
Joe began his roofing career in hard metal roofing, specialising in copper, zinc and stainless-steel applications. Joe bares a particular passion for bespoke design and complex installations. Attention to detail is something Joe sees paramount to every installation.
Spending 6 years on prestigious jobs in and around Oxfordshire; Joe decided to challenge his skillset further and pursue a career in Site Management within the commercial cladding sector.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys fishing, being out in the countryside, and socialising with his friends.

Lawrence Bowyer
Store Supervisor
In his own time Lawrence enjoys spending time with his friends cycling and socialising (mostly at the pub!). Lawrence also manages the Hazelmere Sports FC team, and enjoys watching Arsenal and his home team Wycombe Wanders.
