Vertec Adds Hybrid Vans to its Commercial Fleet
We already have a fleet of electric cars, covering approx. 7500 miles per month, and now our first hybrid vans are ready to hit the roads.
Last week, we took delivery of four self-charging petrol-electric hybrid Toyota Corolla Commercial vans. The Corolla Commercial appealed to us as a business who is looking to reduce our fleet’s emissions while still needing a vehicle capable of long distances.
These vans will be driven by our managers who cover thousands of miles per month travelling to and between our sites. The vehicles can operate on electric power alone when travelling at low speeds. Great for navigating city centres with stop-start traffic, allowing for zero-emission driving in low-emission zones.
This is only our first step in reducing the environmental impact of our fleet of vans. We plan to replace our remaining fleet vehicles, that currently run on fossil fuels, with lower emission vehicles as they come up for replacement.
