Last year Vertec introduced a Wellbeing Day for all staff. Based on last year’s uptake and feedback from staff, this has now become a permanent staff benefit and will be available to all staff each year.
What is a Wellbeing Day?
A Wellbeing day is a designated (paid) day of leave that employees can take to focus on their own mental and physical health. It is separate from annual leave and sick days. The focus of a Wellbeing Day is for staff to spend it practising self-care, doing something that nurtures their physical or mental wellbeing. This could mean spending the day with family and friends, undertaking a sporting activity they enjoy, or just spending the day on the sofa, with Netflix – the experience should be personal to them to suit their preferences.
It has been proven that spending quality time focusing on your mental and physical health can prevent future sickness.
